We are the Berra family and we have lived in Berthoud, Colorado for the last 8 years. We have a few acres where we enjoy our Husky Zeus, our 3 cats Bast, Salem and Skittles (who snores so loud we are surprised she made it for 7 years as an outdoor cat), our bearded dragon Naga, Galileo the double yellow headed Amazon parrot who loves to sing in the shower and the many geese, ducks and chickens that make living on a little land so interesting.
Our daughter Michelle Berra was involved in a horrible accident on January 15, 2007 that left Tyler Carron and Nikko Landeros terribly injured. Tyler and Nikko have been very brave and impressive in their healing. We think about them every day and hope that their physical and emotional healing continues and that they are able to take advantage of any opportunities that come their way in life.
Unfortunately, the DA's insistence to pursue the charges against Michelle is going to result in a painful step back for everyone involved in accident on the night of January 15th. We certainly don't want Tyler, Nikko, Michelle nor anyone else to have to relive that tragic time in a courtroom.
The purpose of this web site is to keep friends and the public informed about the status of the case and provide a support mechanism for our daughter. As her parents, we will continue to do everything in our power to defend our daughter in this time of need.
This web site is evolving and we would like to thank Jen Rotar (www.WebsitesByJen.com) for helping us put this together. She has given her time to the original Berthoud Cares web site and is a very special and caring person.
We thank you so much for your kindness and support for Michelle and our family.
Ya'sou,
